More than a year ago, I urged Honey & Quinine readers to vote for Joe Biden for president. If Barack Obama (whom I’ve always admired, respected, and imagined I would like) had not legitimately earned his place at the top of the ticket, I would be urging delegates to the Democrat nominating convention to nominate Joe Biden.
JB’s behavior since withdrawing from the race has been nothing short of exemplary: a study in grace, propriety and integrity, all of which he possessed before the process began. His comments about foreign policy have been as astute and on target as a laser-guided munition; no cride zingers; no petulance, nothing you’d likely encounter backstage following the conclusion of a Miss Succotash talent contest; no claims of reverse sexism from the the judges.
Biden is perfectly positioned to provide the “known acumen” on the diplomatic front in an outward-directed effort to wipe the venom and feces out of the current office-holder’s office/reputation. He knows the ropes, the major players on the world front and they know Joe Biden. He could be an even greater asset to the USA and the cause of JUSTICE than he has been as chair of the Foreign Relations Committee.
Biden has the stripes earned from decades of public service which has not always been tightly bound to his “party line,” and that’s okay. Despite what #43 believes. Justice, correct action, and the appearance of honesty don’t function in lock-step to party dogma.
Joe Biden is the person who could make the greatest contribution to the sorry scenario that will greet the new family moving into the White House next January. That’s why the head of the household moving into Blair House (where the veep lives, as most of you know already) should be Joe Biden.
Apologies to you who are sifting through my record-four postings at Honey & Quinine and Umbrage Universal today. As all with open ears and eyes will testify, life is a trip these days. And I’m nothing if I’m not a travel writer: a Rick Steves for mind-trekking.
Live long . . . . . . . and proper.
YES ~ YES ~ YES ~ YES ~ YES ~ YES ~ YES ~ YES !!!
HOPE, HONESTY, INTEGRITY, INTELLIGENCE, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & A LITTLE FEISTINESS ALL ROLLED INTO ONE.
WHAT A MAN! WHAT A LEADER! WHAT A TICKET!
ONLY WAY IT COULD BE BETTER, IS IF THE TICKET READ BIDEN/OBAMA INSTEAD OF THE OTHER WAY AROUND.
BUT, THIS WILL DO!
(INCIDENTALLY, I’M A LIFE-LONG, RECOVERING REPUBLICAN)

Greetings to a kindred mind with top drawer political perspective.
Thanks for posting!

Came across this article again today. Forgot I’d written that comment! There is no question that Biden is The Guy. I just returned from Europe for several weeks and I heard the same thing over and over….. intelligent people all over the world are so hopeful that Obama wins (and so many know Joe Biden & are very impressed with his record & history). They’re disgusted with US policies over the last 8 years, but they believe strongly in the power and goodness of this country and the American people, and hope this election will result in regaining our sanity.
I’m sad to see that mine is the only comment here, and I’d hope that you’d send out more articles, now that it appears we actually may have our ticket on the horizon….would like to have more people see your intelligent comments.
Be well & prosperous.
It’s almost 10 pm in my home office 20 minutes’ brisk walk from where Barack Obama will address the world Saturday with his VP candidate by his side. In less than 48 hours and probably in less than 24 hours, the world will know who his man (or woman) is, and I pray it will be Joe Biden. The right choice by Barack Obama, selecting the distinguished, erudite, nation-smart senator from Delaware will bring more than a joyful, “rah-rah moment;” it will herald the salvation of the free world. I pray it will be Joe Biden. I fear that it will not.
