The conflict now waged by Israel and her neighbor nations of disparate theology is no more the war of the United States than the war between Sioux and Apache (or other tribes of that earlier collective consciousness). It’s true that the citizens of the great nation of Israel seem to be 20th Century intruders, thieves of land that belonged to soneone else, but history tells us their progenitors lived there in ancient days. It is fitting that they live where their Gainsayer Omniscient Dogmatizer said they should live (though some would say they walked away from their GOD and have paid the price; a hell on earth of a sort, and far beyond the scope of this posting.)
Israel was absolutely right for showing Nasser the wages of hate and henly, cluckity, confidence and venomous desire. BRAVO Israel! The nation was also heroic in the defense of their paople in the long, lethal aftermath. I hope it is obvious I am a friend of the nation and the people therein and beyond who understand what a peace treaty means. Consider the Carter Camp David Accord, a masterwork of diplomatic finesse and generous good will toward Arab and Israeli alike.
Since the signing of that treaty, Israel continues to jab a rapier into the eye of every friend of the cause of peace in Palestine, among them, me. That weapon, bloody, unwarranted and wantonly destructive of peace is a metaphor for Israel’s continued occupation of land acquired during the 1967 Six Day War; land they should vacate NOW, TODAY already!
What is wrong with those who continue to authorize and fund illegal new settlements? If peace is to begin in that tortured land made vile and hostile to Israel by Israel’s own perverted disregard for their own promises, it must begin with the withdrawal of Israel’s presence from every building and ditch in that territory.
What respect is due to Israel whose word in a signed treaty means so little? As long as Israel continues to flagrantly disregard their own word, do not be surprised when their friends and adversaries remind them that the cause of peace is also the cause of their god. No god to my knowledge, urges pointless death. Why must Israel continue to show its incapacity to recognize that?
Let me know if you have an answer. I want to pass it on to #43.
Live long . . . . . and proper.
