This Week With George S. was first class from start to finich. Joe Biden was in fine form as I knew he would be, but I was surprised at what came throgh. Everyone says there is no “military solution” in Iraq, but Biden is the only candidate offering a political solution. What is right with [...]

I was going to entitle this post: Hellman’s: the Econmy Margarine, but since I did something similar with “The Economy Potato Chip: Saltines and Margarine:” and described “the economy ice cream as Saltines, margarine and crunchy peanut butter, I concluded a more original title was in order this go ’round.
There have been times when there [...]

Pictured above: a view of the Old State Capitol, Springfield, Illinois. Photo by Job “Sabre-tooth” Conger.
Attorney General nominee Michael Mukasy’s appearance at Senate confirmation meetings this week has been fascinating. During his first day he made some solid points the way a suitor might promise a fendleman — make that feminine – weekend companion [...]

<>As a werewolf might say to his barber/psychiatrist . . . . “a little off the chest.”

Have you ever wondered how a wolf feels
In the dark of an [...]
The Economy Potato Chip: Saltines and Margarine

There were occasions last winter when I ate lunch of Nabisco Saltines (Sunshine doesn’t come close.) and Imperial Margarine.

After you’ve replaced all your old-fashioned energy-sucking light bulbs with the new spiral kind, consider shopping green by shopping local. Better yet, consider it NOW.
NEWS FLASH: today’s big box store is the new Mom and Pop shop. When you have no M&P to shop for what you need, the big boxes beat the pants off [...]
Ron Paul for President?

Springfield, Illinois residents are becoming increasingly aware of conservative Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul, thanks to a local cadre of supporter “meetup groups” which share news via a local website and rally occasionally to hand out literature to passers-by. Illinois Times icon Fletcher “Bud” Ferrar described the activity better than I can in his page [...]

Springfield AM radio station WMAY has been airing commercials for lubricating jellies that impart warm sensations to the applicatee of said jelly. They also air commercials for a popular brand of prophylactic sheaths pulled over aroused male anatomy. You may ask, “Why are you up so late listening to these commercials when you should be [...]
