If you care about the environment in our city and you believe that before you ask Washington DCeit to behave responsibly in dealing with the world scene you should lift your finger (I won’t suggest which one.) locally, you should get to know Sustainable Springfield. Their web site is www.sustainablespringfield.org I will add it to my blog roll on the right after I post this.
. . . . . From their latest news release:
Sustainable Springfield, Inc., a nonprofit organization which promotes environmental advocacy and education will host a presentation by a local family who has just completed building an eco-friendly residence near Chatham. Harvey and Annette Koplo will describe how they have incorporated sustainable materials and green design techniquest into their new home. As a renewable energy source, they installed photovoltaic solar panels. This home is one of the first in the Springfield area that includes many of the green building materials and pracices that have been utilized successfully elsewhere.
. . . The presentation will be September 17, starting at 7:00 pm in the Dove Center at Prairie Heart Instititute, Sixth at Mason, Springfield.
This organization is competently led by founder Jim Johnston. Attendance at the August meeting, held at Bernie & Bettie’s Pizza filled the meeting room with good people you probably know. Visit the web site and please add your name to the roster of good people you probably know.
Live long . . . . and proper.
